About WDAC

Western Districts Angling Club was formed in 1938 by a group of local enthusiastic anglers residing in the western suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia.  Today we are regarded as a family angling club with the aim of improving our angling skills with emphasis on having fun.

We meet on the Second Tuesday of each month from 7:30 pm at the Western Youth Centre, 79 Marion Road Cowandilla South Australia.  Club meetings are a social get together where we discuss previous and upcoming trips, learn new rigs and burley techniques, watch fishing videos and just talk plain fishing.

Interested anglers who meet our aims and objectives are welcome to join. Visitors from around Australia and overseas are also welcome to attend club meetings and fishing competitions.

Angling competitions are generally held once a month around Adelaide and throughout the State with venues ranging from freshwater, boat, jetty and beach & rock. Venues are carefully selected to hopefully maximise the catch rates although sometimes the weather has an impact. Following each angling trip a BBQ is held to enable members to socialise, trade fishing stories and to tell about the one that got away.

Western Districts is affiliated with the Australian Anglers Association (S.A. Div) and competes against other clubs in 5 State Championship events each year. Our Mens, Junior and Ladies teams have performed extremely well over the past few years. Our club is also affiliated with the South Australian Piscatorial Council which manages South Australian State fish records.
